Health Net has been serving people in California for over 45 years. Millions trust the insurance because it’s affordable, good-quality, and designed for local communities. They work with more than 90,000 healthcare providers and offer plans that can be used across the country. Their benefits support your overall health and provide coverage no matter where you are or at what stage of life you are in.
Health Net Medicare Advantage (HMO) plans cover foot care services if your primary care doctor decides they are medically needed. Routine foot care should usually be arranged through your primary care doctor. You can even get up to one visit per month, but do check with your insurance provider for your eligibility. The benefit is primarily for the people who cannot take care of their own feet. For example, someone with arthritis in their hands can’t trim their toenails.
Your PCP usually decides how often you need these visits. Routine foot care may include removing corns or calluses, trimming or cleaning nails, and basic foot care to keep feet clean and healthy. If your PCP does not provide such services, they will refer you to some other qualified providers. However, you’ll need a referral from your PCP.
For members living in nursing homes or other care facilities, routine foot care is also covered, no matter their medical conditions.
If you have Health Net insurance, we will check your eligibility, confirm if a referral is needed, and walk you through your next steps. Visit us today at our Lakewood or Anaheim, CA, offices.
